Mittens Plain and Fancy
Saturday 10 AM - 4 PM; Instructors: Naomi Northrup and Mary Philbin
Did last winter leave you with orphan mittens or chapped hands? There is nothing like a wooly mitten to keep your hands warm, so prepare NOW for next winter! You will learn all the techniques you need to knit a basic mitten "in the round." We will also explore fun and functional cuffs and a Maine-worthy technique: stuffed mittens, the warmest ever! And you will have all the summer and fall to make enough for your whole family! Note: Some experience with double pointed needles is helpful. If you can bring a pre-knit cuff, all the better. It will enable you to start "stuffing" that mitten even sooner. Please bring your own set of size 7 or 8, 8 inch (length) double pointed needles.
FEE: $40.00 (includes cost of Shaker yarn) (pre-registration required)
ENROLLMENT: 8 people
(Bring your own lunch-lemonade will be provided)
