CALL TO ARTISTS. November Show at Fiddlehead Center for the Arts
Dear Artists and Craftsman,
You are invited to participate in our upcoming show at Fiddlehead Art and Science Center in Gray for the month of November.
The theme of this month's work is "Interconnectedness". All mediums are accepted. More than one piece may be submitted. Accepted work will depend on space available.
A few things to keep in mind when submitting work :
Fiddlehead serves all ages, but primarily it's audience is young children, please select your work accordingly. This is our seventh show of work in the courtyard at Fiddlehead - known as our Fern Gallery. The courtyard is accessible to children daily. We have a receptionist at the front desk to supervise, and the staff are diligent about ensuring that the work is respected and safe, however, it is a "hang at your own risk " venue.
With that said, we have not had any incidences in the past six shows of any kind of harm to the work. The art that is displayed is a wonderful addition to the center and brings quality work to a local venue , making art accessible. It also is a great opportunity for the children to experience the work of artists, and for the instructors to use as a teaching tool.
You are welcome to sell any work you display with a commission of 25% going to Fiddleheads for it's scholarship program.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Marie (926-3557) or Johanna (926-4772) or call the center at 657-2244.
Fiddlehead is located at 25 Shaker Road in Gray. You can drop off work between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Work must be ready to hang.
Please submit by November 3 2009
I look forward to seeing your work!
